Carry the Kettle & I am a Child of God

My mission has blessed my life so much! Can I just say that?

I am so grateful to be here to met the people here, and to have such a great support system back at home. I love you all so much, and I am amazed at how much the Savior can help us when we turn to Him.

I love Him, He is so good to us.

This week has been another exciting week! I was able to go out to Moose Jaw for exchanges, it is super neat to see how much the area has grown in the past 8 weeks. The Lord truly knows when and where to place us where we can help the area grow, and where we can grow the best!

And I was able to go to the temple again! And see so many miracles! And I so grateful for prayer. My testimony has grown immense this week. The feelings of peace that the Lord can give us, can never be replaced. I don't want anything else. Just His love. I mean I am really grateful for your love too, we all play a part in the Plan of Salvation..

Hopefully you are all having such a great week too! And I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation too! We have a member he is nine years old. He has brain cancer, his name is Marcus, he is adorable. We went and sang a few hymns to him, and his family at the hospital. They were really uplifted. And the whole floor there were really appreciative to the hymns we sang. We actually had a few people stand outside the door as we sang. "I Am a Child of God." I love that hymn. I love a lot of them actually.. ha ha. His grandparents live on a Reserve out in Carry the Kettle. They're amazing! They found out Marcus has a tumor on his spine as well.

Also we went to the temple again! Since so many people come in from great distances they have the missionaries come in for Priesthood purposes, then the Sisters are also invited. :) My companion's recent convert from Winnipeg came for her first time! So that was a huge blessing to go out with her. The temple is where we can feel the Lord's love for us. I read some scriptures while waiting there.. and it says that the weary traveler shall go there... how true that is. You need strength go to the temple! You need the Lord's guidance go to the temple! The Lord put them on earth for our benefit! Let us all prepare to go to the temple!

I am amazed at the sacrifices that these people make, from poor families giving all they can to feed the missionaries. I can hardly express my gratitude I have for the families here. That 'feed' us. And what a privilege it is to in return "feed" them. I love them so much. And some people travel miles, and miles to attend the temple. I love you all so much! And I am grateful for Eternal families, and that we can be together forever through Heavenly Father's plan!

Out of Gas in High Heals in Regina Canada!

I have now arrived in the wonderful land of Regina! Home of the temple! And I've already been able to attend my first evening! We did baptisms for the dead. I am so grateful for the opportunity we have to have that bit of Heaven right here on earth! I love the temple so much it is so crazy! I love this area. It is a place I did not want to serve.. well swallowed that pride ha ha. I love the Lord He truly does know what is best for us!

So CRAZINESS! I am now over two wards here in Regina, we are in Sunrise, and Lewvan Ward. Both really good, and strong wards. They are small but really powerful. I am so grateful for my companion too! She is Sister Smith. She is from AF, really bubbly, and funny. We are doing miracles here in Regina! Just so many little things that work out! From time, to not running out of gasoline..ha ha, that's a funny story!

So this past Sunday night.. yesterday.. Let me give you a little back story I wore a thin green skirt to church with nylons, and a nude high heals.. I mean I'm Canadian tough now.. so when it's -15 C that's nothing man. I love it here! Anyway.. we had church, church meetings, and a dinner, appointment with a potential named B. But she lunched us. :( But we were determined to find a new investigator... when we make goals with the Lord He will not let us down!!!!

We were then looking down at out gas gauge.. yeah it was a miracle we made it to the church let alone, dinner, and to Betty's so to get to our other potentials house.. we would not have made it.. so we decide to out tracting! It was about -28 C With the wind.. a little nippy not gonna lie. ha ha. Anyway We go knocking!  We get to Chris's house, he was really respectful, and gave us a referral.. we knock some other houses, but no such luck. :( So we hop into our car.. and since the gas was so low we couldn't turn it on ha ha.. I sat on my feet. ha ha. Anyway we called, and long story short. F, the referral... is a less active member and he has been 'hiding' for a while, but he is hilarious, and we're meeting up with him on Wednesday at Timmy Horton's which is a Canadian coffee and doughnut shop.. don't worry they have great hot chocolate too!  We went back to Chris's house where we then invited him to Wednesday's appointment, and invited Wade... Wade is a co-worker of Chris.. and they both work for F.! Talk about a small world. So we end up teaching a 7 minute lesson to C., give him a Book Of Mormon, and make him a new investigator! It was so crazy good!  May I remind you, I am in nude pumps, and so my AMAZING companion shuffled through the snow in front of me, so that I could make it door to door. Don't worry I will not be such a fool next time, and I will bring socks, and boots with me just in case this ever happens again! I mean usually I am super prepared, but I missed the bullet on that one.

Anyway the Lord is so good to us! I am so grateful for His help, and all of his love! I am so grateful for His son Jesus Christ that we can retain a remission of our sins. I love the gospel. I love you!

Thank you for all that you do for me, and all of your prayers, emails, and thoughts of encouragement. I love you,and I am so happy that my sister Cora had her baby Xander, he is pretty adorable. And that my Dad is getting married Aug 6th. I am very happy for him, and Carole. I love you all!

Love Sister Tomkinson !

GOING BACK TO SASKATCHEWAN!

"Hi ho Hi ho, it's off to work we go!"

This past week has been crazy busy! We are not even finding time for me to pack... speaking of which I am off to Regina! That was the shortest area I have ever been in, 8 weeks! Where did the time go? I am going to miss my companion like crazy, but she has a crazy last couple transfers left. She is going to be double training. She is amazing! Did I tell you that recently?

Anyway, I will be in Regina with Sister Smith. She is super good too! We are going to see miracles. She also took Sign language in high school. She is a couple years older than I am too. But she is super amazing! Definitely looking forward to this next transfer.

We also had dinner with the C's this past week, they are a Filipino family here in the ward, our ward is about 1/3 Filipino, and they are so amazing! We committed them to a family ward mission plan, and Brother C. chimes in saying "Hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go!"  He is the best!

We also gave blood this week at the Canadian blood center. They did a great job with my arm, but alas they totally messed up sister Davis' arm. We got transfer calls in the middle of donating, while the woman was on a hunt for Sister Davis' s vein,... I am leaving! This is not completely out of left field. We knew that if anyone of us were to leave it would be me. She is definitely still needed here!

And the work is so good here!

Oh my goodness!!!!!! L. was baptized this Saturday! And we are so excited for her!!!!! I am so grateful hat she is such a sweet, amazing girl! She is going to be strong. Her mom is activated! T. has such a strong spirit about her!

I love you so much family, thank you so much for all that you do for me, and for the Lord. Thank you for your prayers, and all that you do. :0)

Love you!

P.S.. I'M GOING BACK TO SASKATCHEWAN!
